Hello everyone,
I would like to set up our vestibule in the following style (see attached photo).
Do you have any ideas where I could find something like this?
The only idea I have so far is using Besta furniture from IKEA, although from my research, a tall cabinet might be difficult to arrange with that.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Best regards

The wall cabinets aren’t 60... more like 38 plus the door (or so). To my knowledge, there are also 40 cm (16 inches) tall tall cabinets... For wall cabinets, a 40 cm (16 inches) height by 60 cm (24 inches) width is great for a cooker hood cabinet... Is that available in the new series? I still have one from the old series (Faktum?).

Kitchen cabinets are usually much deeper – around 60cm (24 inches), right? And BESTA is 40cm (16 inches). Possibly too wide for a hallway?
By now, I almost always recommend going to a cabinetmaker. It’s obviously more expensive than Ikea, but not more expensive than good quality from furniture stores. In return, you get items that you wouldn’t find otherwise, and they fit perfectly. So for your own home, it’s a worthwhile investment.

There are also options with roughly 40cm (16 inches) depth; it can’t be much less if you want to sit on it. We do have BESTA for hanging on the wall, but I’m not sure if stacking things on top would be stable enough.

For our 150cm (59 inches) niche in the hallway, we requested quotes from cabinetmakers to build a simple cupboard. Most now tend to decline jobs under 5000€ (about 5,500 USD), and the offers we received were about five times more expensive than Ikea’s Pax system. The references didn’t seem significantly higher in quality either. If that’s the case, we’d be paying six to seven times as much. For more challenging areas, like sloped ceilings, we would consider asking a cabinetmaker again; otherwise, only after the building boom has settled.

Metod is available in two depths, 40 and 60 centimeters (16 and 24 inches).

For a niche less than 200 centimeters (79 inches) wide, I would recommend skipping the seating area for a family of four and instead choose Pax wardrobes, so that all items can be stored efficiently. During the toddler years, when it’s convenient to sit the child down to put on shoes, you can place a stool inside the wardrobe and take it out when needed.

Hello everyone,
thank you very much for your great feedback and ideas.
Unfortunately, a carpenter is out of our price range.

Our niche is 1.83 m (6 ft) wide. The depth of the cabinets should not exceed 40 cm (16 inches).

Here is what I have in mind:
1 tall cabinet with a width of 60 cm (24 inches) and a bench seat of 1.20 m (4 ft).
Parallel to the bench, additional cabinets that connect at the top to the tall cabinet.
If you have specific suggestions for the cabinets, for example from the Metod series, please share them. I also like Besta, but in my opinion, it might be difficult to combine with the tall cabinet.

(I previously considered filling the entire niche with cabinets, but we prefer a more open design.)

Thanks again for your efforts!

How many people is the space supposed to accommodate?

Currently, we are (still) two people. We also have plenty of storage space in the basement to accommodate, for example, additional shoe cabinets.
