Well.. I like to have jackets, shoes, and small items like scarves, hats, and bags all in one place when I want to leave the house.

Yes, I also find it practical to have everything in one place. However, I believe that the option I am considering does offer a reasonable amount of storage, and there are always some compromises. Either in the appearance or in the storage space... We think that the option we are considering is a good middle ground.

A 60 cm (24 inch) closet with only 40 cm (16 inch) depth would just barely be enough for me during winter. I always have at least two coats and two jackets in regular use. Plus shoes, scarf, gloves, various handbags, and also shopping bags, etc. On the other hand, I have never missed having a bench in the hallway.
