Hello everyone,
I would like to set up our vestibule in the following style (see attached photo).
Do you have any ideas where I could find something like this?
The only idea I have so far is using Besta furniture from IKEA, although from my research, a tall cabinet might be difficult to arrange with that.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Best regards

1 x tall cabinet with 60cm (24 inches) width

This is what I’m dealing with at work right now: in the 60cm (24 inches) wide cabinet section with 40cm (16 inches) depth, only one rod fits, running from front to back; a rod running left to right would technically fit, but not hangers.

So, I hang a thick coat, a winter jacket, and a lab coat. A second lab coat would also fit, but it would be cramped. Wet or damp items don’t stand a chance either. Shoes fit only in a single row.

I would definitely plan a depth of 60cm (24 inches) for this niche, so shoes can also be stored there. With scarves, bags, etc., the wardrobe would then be full.

Opposite the cabinet, a bench made of nice wood or, if there’s a dresser placed there, somewhere to put a stool or small seat.

A bench, one of the nice wooden ones, opposite the closet or if a chest of drawers is there, somewhere a stool or a small seat.

I feel the same way. We have our 1.50m (5 feet) wide, 60cm (24 inches) deep Pax closet completely full, and that’s just two of us. One meter (3 feet) for jackets, three drawers for gloves, scarves, and small items, plus space above the jackets for handbags, my work bag. And shoes can be stored underneath. Even that is tight though — the everyday shoes are already kept on the bench in the utility room by the side entrance.

Good morning everyone,
you’ve convinced me about the 60cm (24 inches) depth. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

The tall cabinet shouldn’t be placed immediately to the left of the entrance, but rather all the way to the right, because the light switches are there.

Do you mean that the bench/dresser should be opposite, so on the right side at the doorway? Unfortunately, a bench wouldn’t fit there... I would really like to have the cabinets and bench together in the niche, so it creates a uniform look.

Do you think the bench/sideboard should be opposite, meaning to the right of the door entrance? Unfortunately, no bench would fit there... I would really like to have cabinets and a bench together in the niche, so it looks unified.

You need enclosed storage space. A bench is mainly for sitting down briefly, a chair serves that purpose as well. Use your niche for what is bulky -> cabinet, cabinet, cabinet.
My bench stands openly in a hallway and is about 25cm (10 inches) deep...
But do as you wish: sooner or later you’ll regret not having enough cabinets where they don’t get in the way.

I would also choose continuous built-in wardrobes. Since the niche is 73 cm deep (29 inches), make sure the light switches are positioned as close to the door as possible. Or rather, at 183 cm (72 inches) ... after plastering it might be around 181 cm (71 inches) ... for me, a 175 cm (69 inches) Pax solution with a 6 cm (2.5 inches) trim would work. Maybe you can also plan something regarding the light switches there. Otherwise, maybe something can be done in the door side panel in the reveal.

Then try searching for wall-mounted folding stools or folding wall stools ... there are several options where you can simply mount 2 or 3 on the wall to the right. When not in use, they don’t get in the way, and when needed, you can fold one down. Above these folding stools on the right, you could also install wall hooks for a guest wardrobe. The folding stool also provides some wall protection.
