Hello everyone, I have been having issues with the door hinges on my IKEA PAX wardrobe for some time. Some of them are quite worn out, causing the doors not to close properly and even drag in some areas. Since I don’t want to replace the entire doors, my question is: How can I replace the worn hinges on an IKEA PAX wardrobe myself? Are there specific steps to pay special attention to, or any particular tools needed? I have already gone through the IKEA instructions, but these mostly cover assembly rather than replacing old parts. I am especially interested in how to carefully remove the old hinges, which replacement parts are suitable, and how to adjust the new ones so the doors close optimally. Thanks in advance for your tips and experiences!

Use a screwdriver carefully to loosen metal parts, and do not forcefully pull out plastic sleeves.
Regarding replacement parts: IKEA offers hinges for Pax as spare parts, usually with ID 201.675.39; the exact model number can be found on the IKEA spare parts list. The quality of the originals is high, while cheaper aftermarket alternatives may have micro-cracks and poor fit.
For adjustment: The three adjustment screws allow proper alignment in horizontal, vertical, and depth directions to ensure the doors close correctly. Some models have right- and left-handed hinges—be sure to note which side each is on before removal.
If all else fails, contact IKEA customer service; they usually assist with ordering spare parts and provide useful advice. However, with care, the replacement can be done easily as a DIY task.
