Hello everyone, I will be moving soon and currently use IKEA Platsa furniture for storage. Since this furniture consists of several connected units and can seem quite delicate in parts, I’m concerned about the best way to transport it without causing damage during the move. What strategies are recommended to protect the materials and connectors? Should I completely disassemble the furniture, or are there specific packing techniques that can help? I look forward to your experiences and tips!

Thank you very much for the detailed advice! One last question about disassembling: Some furniture pieces from the Platsa series are connected with plastic connectors, which I do not want to damage. Do you have any experience with the best way to take these apart without breaking or loosening them during disassembly or later reassembly?

Do you have any experience with how to best take these apart without them breaking or loosening during disassembly or later reassembly? The plastic connectors in Platsa are initially a bit tight. I recommend the following approach:
- Avoid using force; instead, carefully pry them from above using a plastic spatula or similar tool
- Completely loosen all screws beforehand to prevent any tension
- When reassembling, align the connectors properly and tighten the screws evenly
- If the connectors seem somewhat brittle, you can gently treat them with a little silicone spray before assembly if needed
This way, you can prevent breakage and loose connections.
