Hello everyone, I am looking for effective methods to improve the cleaning of Ikea Metod kitchen fronts, especially for grease stains. The fronts are usually high-gloss or matte lacquered or laminated, so of course, you want to avoid damaging or making the surface look worse. Currently, I mostly use dish soap with water, but the grease stains are hard to remove completely, especially when they have dried in. I am interested in which cleaning products and techniques really work well without damaging the surface. Are there any household remedies that can be safely used? And what about stronger cleaners or microfiber cloths? It would be great if someone could share their experiences and maybe also tips on the right cleaning frequency. Thank you!

Hey, finally a topic that interests me too! Grease stains on Metod cabinets can be tricky. I usually rely on a mixture of warm water with a few drops of dish soap – simple, but it generally works very well. Important: Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, as they can easily scratch the cabinet fronts. If the stains are stubborn, I use a gentle all-purpose cleaner, but I always test it first in an inconspicuous spot. And yes, microfiber cloths are invaluable – they pick up dirt well without leaving scratches. Oh, and always wipe in circular motions; this helps spread the dirt evenly and prevents streaks. Good luck trying it out!

Good morning! Here is a brief guide on how to effectively treat grease stains on Ikea Metod front panels: - First, wipe the surface with a damp microfiber cloth to remove any loose dust. - Then prepare a mild solution of warm water and dish soap, using only a small amount of soap to avoid leaving a residue. - Gently dab the stain with the cloth; never rub to prevent damaging the surface. - For dried grease stains, you can carefully use a little isopropyl alcohol on the cloth, but use it sparingly and test first! - Finally, wipe again with clean water to remove any leftover residue. One more tip: always use fresh cloths to avoid smearing. This way, you can remove grease stains effectively without dulling or damaging the surface.

I usually use dish soap and lukewarm water along with a microfiber cloth. For dried-on stains, moisten them first; this makes it easier to remove the grease.

Guys, what works great for me: simply apply some lemon juice to the grease, let it sit for a short time, and then wipe it off with warm water and a microfiber cloth. Of course, don’t rub too hard, or you’ll get scratches. But the juice is excellent for grease and almost like a natural miracle solution 😎.

This method works for many, but you need to be careful with painted or laminated fronts from Ikea Metod, as citric acid can sometimes damage or fade the surface. It’s best to test on a hidden corner first.
