Hello everyone, I have a question about the proper cleaning of specific areas on Ikea Metod fronts that have visible dirt buildup or stains, such as dried-on stickiness. I am mainly interested in which cleaning methods and products have proven effective for removing these stubborn residues without damaging the fronts. It would also be helpful to know if there are any cleaning agents to avoid and if you have tips for treating difficult edges or corners. Thanks in advance for your experiences and recommendations!

I would recommend starting by cleaning with a damp microfiber cloth and mild dish soap. For stubborn stains, vinegar water or isopropyl alcohol works well, but be careful with harsh chemicals.

When removing Stolke from Ikea Metod cabinet fronts, it is important to avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaners, as the fronts are often covered with a film or coating. A method using lukewarm water and a drop of mild dish soap is ideal. For tougher stains, gentle cleaners based on household alcohol that evaporate without leaving residue are suitable. Acetone or aggressive solvents should be avoided, as they can damage the surface.

Great topic! I once had very stubborn stains on my Metod fronts and can only say: keep at it, soak the stains with lukewarm water, and finally use a special window cloth to bring back the proper shine! Even if it’s annoying – the result is totally worth it! 👍

Hello nosori, I’m happy to provide more detailed information. Ikea Metod fronts are often made of coated chipboard or painted surfaces. It is important to be gentle when cleaning with sponges or brushes to avoid scratches. For stubborn stains, which are often dried-on dirt, I recommend first moistening the affected areas with a damp cloth to soften them. Then you can work on the stains using a soft microfiber cloth and a mild cleaner.

Alternatively, a gentle household sponge that does not scour can help. A tip: Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous spot first to ensure the surface is not damaged. Please avoid using aggressive chemical cleaners, floral sprays, or oil-based substances, as these can cause the surface to swell or discolor.

For stubborn stains, you can carefully use a plastic scraper to loosen crusted material. Do not use knives or metal tools.
