Hello everyone, I have a question about cleaning my IKEA Metod cabinet fronts. It is very important to me not to damage the surface. The fronts are mostly made of melamine-coated wood-based panels or have a laminate finish, so harsh cleaning agents or vigorous scrubbing could damage the surface. Therefore, I am looking for proven methods: Which cleaning products and techniques are best suited to clean the fronts without causing scratches or dull spots? I would appreciate it if you could address different surface types and provide tips on how to handle various kinds of dirt. Thanks in advance!

Recommended cleaning agents are pH-neutral or mildly acidic cleaners, as well as gentle dishwashing detergents.I support this recommendation and would like to add that it is advisable to test new cleaning products and their effects on an inconspicuous area first. This helps avoid unpleasant surprises. Moreover, I recommend not cleaning IKEA Metod fronts too aggressively. Frequent use of strong cleaners accelerates wear and tear. For everyday cleaning, gentle wiping with lukewarm water and occasional use of a mild cleaner is sufficient.
If you ever have greasy edges or sticky residues on your Metod fronts, I recommend the following gentle method: Soak a soft cloth in warm water with a small amount of dish soap, wring it out thoroughly, and gently wipe the affected areas. Do not let any liquid seep in. If necessary, repeat the process, but never scrub harshly. Afterwards, immediately wipe again with a dry cloth. Avoid using aggressive cleaners or solvents, as they can dull or even damage the surface.
