Hello everyone, I have a specific question regarding the care and cleaning of my Ikea Metod cabinet fronts, especially when it comes to greasy stains caused by cooking fumes or contact with oily hands. The fronts are smooth with a matte finish, so I would like to know which cleaning agents or methods are both effective and gentle on the material. I have already tried various home remedies but was unsure whether they might damage or discolor the surface. Are there any proven approaches, preferably with a step-by-step explanation, to keep the fronts permanently grease-free and well-maintained without losing their matte appearance or texture? I look forward to your tips and experiences.

For cleaning grease, I recommend:
- Warm water with neutral dish soap
- Soft microfiber cloth
- No abrasive cleaners or alcohol-based products
- Always rinse with clean water after cleaning
- Wipe dry immediately
This way, the color and surface are preserved, and the fronts will stay looking new for longer.

Do you know of any gentle alternatives to the classic dish soap and water mixture? One alternative could be a mild, pH-neutral all-purpose solution that contains no alcohol or solvents. You can prepare this yourself by mixing water with a cleaner specifically designed for delicate surfaces. Such products are often labeled as "furniture-friendly" or "surface-safe" in hardware stores.
When cleaning, be sure to use lukewarm water – water that is too hot can also damage the surface.

Also: Be careful not to have the cloth too wet – otherwise water will sit on the fronts, which is not good for the surface in the long run.
