Hello everyone, I have noticed with my IKEA Pax wardrobe that I urgently need to adjust the height of the individual shelves, as my storage needs are constantly changing. My specific question is: What practical and time-saving tips are there for quickly and efficiently adjusting the height of the shelves or shelf spacing in a Pax wardrobe without a lot of effort or completely emptying it? Are there any special tools or methods that make this easier? I look forward to your experiences and advice!

I always wonder why everyone here overcomplicates things.Thank you for your comment! I admit my question might sound a bit improvised, but I have already tried different approaches, and a lot of time was lost because I had to empty everything out.
Therefore, I’m particularly interested if there is an officially faster method or a trick for adjusting the height of the Pax system without having to completely empty the whole wardrobe. I’m also a bit concerned about the metal pegs, as they might break or bend easily.
Is it recommended to remove all the shelves, or is partially loosening them enough? Thanks in advance for any further tips.

So I’m wondering if there might be an officially quicker method or trick from Pax to adjust the height without completely emptying the entire wardrobe. There is no separate official method mentioned in the manual. The recommended procedure is to empty the wardrobe as much as possible first to avoid compromising its stability.
However, it is definitely possible to only clear out the specific section being adjusted while leaving the rest of the contents inside. The metal pins are made of durable material and rarely break, but they should be carefully pulled out, preferably using a narrow lever tool.
I advise removing the pins evenly and without applying excessive force to prevent any distortion.
