Hello everyone,
we are in the process of building a single-family house with a basement suitable for living. This is the design we have come up with. I would like to hear from you if you see any possibilities for improvements.
On the ground floor, there is a side entrance door on the right. The carport will be located there.
In the basement living area, the children's rooms face south. From there, it should be possible to access the terrace and the garden.
I look forward to your tips and suggestions!

The dimensions are much larger, aren’t they? The dimensions are different, but not larger.
By the way, in #145 I still have your former "Favorite" sketch. Strange that you don’t have it?

Include the costs for the underpinning. Either concrete L-blocks or sloping embankments with ground cover.
I would not recommend grass, as it requires mowing.
I would never build on uncompacted soil. The top 50 cm (20 inches) is not enough.
Our well-compacted driveway has settled after more than one year.

Our well-compacted driveway is still settling after more than a yearAt the top, near the pine tree, up to almost the middle, more than 50 cm (20 inches) of soil have already been removed from the original ground, not just from the fill material. But of course, the area around the house and carport must be properly compacted!

#145 is yours, Katja. At least it is mine. You placed a floor plan on the plot. Whether that is the "favorite" is not clear to me. The post is mine, but not the floor plan. That was the last floor plan I considered buildable and that the original poster liked quite well. I didn’t want to say more.
