Hello everyone,

perhaps someone has a similar situation and can offer advice. I haven't been able to find much information on this or fully understand the product descriptions...

We are planning a garage door and a connecting door from the garage to the house.

The garage door should be able to be opened from the outside using a fingerprint scanner. The connecting door should then be opened with a separate fingerprint scanner to enter the house.

How could something like this be implemented? It would be great if it was a system where you can program time windows, like with Ekey Multi.

I assume Ekey Multi with 2 scanning units and a multi-control unit could work. Or is it more cost-effective to use 2 separate systems?

Or is there another system you would recommend?
Regarding door and garage door manufacturers, we have not yet made a decision.

Thanks for your help!

Good question. I can't find anything under the product name listed in the offer, "Fingerprint 3.0, Genius CA 3496482." When we were there, we looked at the device. It was installed frameless in the door—just the small scanner directly embedded in the door. I'll follow up again.

That seems to be a product from Sigenia:

Fingerprint lock (metal) with scanner and smartphone app

Are you sure that the eKey Multi can be networked together like that?

Does anyone have an idea how to implement this more cost-effectively? I need to control 2 garage doors and would prefer not to spend 600-700€ for each door...

You only need one scanner for two gates. Just use a different finger for each gate.
You can’t avoid the relays and stuff.

Sorry, I meant doors. Unfortunately, these are positioned exactly diagonally opposite each other, so I definitely need two access solutions.

Wow, those are some prices.

Just quickly in between: By connecting door, do you mean the door between the house and the garage?

Are you not installing a fire-rated door there at all?
