ᐅ Is it necessary to have LAN cables installed in the garage?

Hello
I wanted to ask what the essential use for a LAN connection in the garage would be?
Our electrician is reluctant to install a Cat cable in the garage.
He is charging twice as much as for a Cat cable inside the house (€500 in the garage) just for a Cat socket.
Why do you absolutely need LAN in the garage?
Wallboxes usually all support Wi-Fi anyway.
We are also planning to install photovoltaic panels later on.

I would say this is mid-budget, maybe even low-budget.
Our only immediate use case would be to bring a LAN connection to the garden shed and install an access point there or mount an access point on the back side.
In case the access point in the living room fails.
Another issue is that we are not allowed to prepare access points for ceiling mounting.
We have to place the access points on the cabinet or lowboard.

FrankChief12 Sep 2022 17:39The developer says there will be structural issues if you drill holes in the ceiling.
We can only place the access point on the cabinet or the lowboard.
Unfortunately, I still don’t know if the access point in the living room will be enough to provide Wi-Fi coverage for the garden and garage. High speeds are not necessary.
Also, we are unsure whether to plan for LAN in the garage or not.
Or should we only install simplex cabling at the desk and in the garage?

They’re going to have problems?! That’s what the structural engineer is for — to assess this. How are your pipes (water, etc.) supposed to be installed? Running along the outside of the wall?! From what I’ve read, I’d almost say that out of the 500k, about 100k profit goes into the developer’s pocket. So, you’re not allowed to have recessed ceiling lights? Surface-mounted outlets?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I think you’re letting the developer lead you by the nose.
Do you have any custom exterior dimensions, or did the developer happen to have something suitable ready-made? Then they’ll want to save on structural engineering because it’s already finished and available in the drawer.
If I were you, I would install an access point near the terrace, so you’ll probably have good coverage in the living room, garden, and garage (depending on the actual layout on the site plan).
