Hello everyone,
I have spent hours reading about dishwasher options now. I will probably buy some kind of XXL sink, so I don’t have to improvise.
However, I definitely want to avoid having to cut into the toe kick.
Is this really the case with the Miele XXL and the BSH models with Vario hinge (especially with Miele, since the front doesn’t lift up)?
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any pictures or similar (especially of Miele – I’m skeptical because the recess doesn’t seem to help with the toe kick at all).
In terms of measurements, I would adapt the kitchen to the toe kick (so 8cm (3 inches) toe kick + 80cm (31½ inches) cabinet = 88cm (34½ inches) at the bottom edge of the countertop).
Best regards,
Marco

IKEA-Freund21 Feb 2017 22:45Regarding Miele: take a look at an installation manual, for example.

ikea_user22 Feb 2017 08:04I’m already familiar with this. It actually confuses me. Or rather, I don’t quite understand it.
In picture 25, there is clearly a cutout. In pictures 27 and 28, however, this cutout is covered with a cover panel, but only if the baseboard is flush with the cabinet front (which it usually isn’t).
On top of that, I’ve read online—and I believe also here in the forum—that it’s possible without the cutout (since it ultimately depends on the ratio between the cabinet front height above the floor and the baseboard height). Everywhere it’s only mentioned that installing the XXL sinks from Miele and BSH Vario hinge is not a problem. But no one says anything about the baseboard (or whether some are more suitable than others). Actually, all baseboards should be the same with the standard Metod kitchen.

IKEA-Experte22 Feb 2017 12:01Unfortunately, this is usually not reported, and when you ask, there is no further response.
The minimum plinth height for Miele is only 35 mm (1.4 inches), and the plinth recess for METOD is deeper than for other kitchens.
If it is very important to you that the plinth panel is definitely not cut out, you should ask Miele if they can provide more data to help make a decision.
