ᐅ Are there carpet underlays that prevent wobbling for tall Kallax shelving units?

Hello everyone, I have a small problem with my new Kallax shelving unit: the tall arrangement wobbles slightly when I pull or push the lower shelf. I have been thinking about placing the shelf on a carpet underlay to improve stability. My question is whether there are specific carpet underlays or anti-tip devices designed especially for tall Kallax units? It’s important to me that they are not too thick and that the furniture remains secure and stable despite being on carpet – maybe there are some clever solutions or recommendations? Looking forward to your experiences and tips!

Thanks to all of you for the many helpful tips! My conclusion: first, use adjustable rubber furniture glides under the legs, add a thin anti-slip mat directly on the carpet, and if that’s not enough, secure the furniture to the wall. This seems like a sensible multi-step approach.

I plan to follow this and will report back on how it went. If anyone has specific product recommendations for thin anti-slip mats or rubber glides for Kallax, please share!

Slides are often easier to find by checking at the hardware store, where you can get affordable adjustable models with rubber buffers. Non-slip mats are usually found under terms like "non-slip rug pad" or "latex rug pad."

I can only agree with keogla. I used the same products, and the wobbling was significantly reduced for me.

Don’t forget wall mounting; it is the safest solution to prevent wobbling in tall shelving units.

I got "rubber buffer furniture glides" from "Bohle"—available online. They are flat, self-adhesive, and significantly reduce wobbling. Additionally, I used the "Griptex" carpet underlay from the hardware store, about 2mm (0.08 inches) thick. It worked great for me on carpet with a thin foam underlay.
