ᐅ Are there carpet underlays that prevent wobbling for tall Kallax shelving units?

buronHello everyone, I have a small problem with my new Kallax shelving unit: the tall arrangement wobbles slightly when I pull or push the lower shelf. I have been thinking about placing the shelf on a carpet underlay to improve stability. My question is whether there are specific carpet underlays or anti-tip devices designed especially for tall Kallax units? It’s important to me that they are not too thick and that the furniture remains secure and stable despite being on carpet – maybe there are some clever solutions or recommendations? Looking forward to your experiences and tips!
Wobbling in tall Kallax units is often caused by a combination of uneven floors and the shelf’s own design. Before focusing on carpet underlays, check if the unit stands completely flat. If not, small adjustable furniture glides are a good solution.
If the floor beneath the carpet is uneven, a thin non-slip mat with slight cushioning improves stability and reduces wobbling. There are no special "anti-tip carpet pads" made specifically for Kallax, but non-slip carpet underlays work well.
Tip: Avoid mats that are too thick, as they can make the shelf unstable. Attaching the unit to the wall may also completely prevent tipping.

Carpet underlays help prevent slipping, but not wobbling. That's true, but apart from securing to the wall, these narrow anti-slip mats actually work wonders. They cushion minor floor unevenness and vibrations, so while the wobbling is at least reduced—the shelf won’t be completely stable—it’s overall more comfortable. 🙂
And hey, a bit of extra padding never hurts if you like carpets!
Thanks for the tips so far! I have an additional question about wall mounting: What type of fasteners do you recommend exactly? Are there special brackets for Kallax units, or do you use standard metal brackets?
Also, I have a relatively thick carpet, and the shelf is placed on it. Are there any thin anti-slip pads that I can put under the shelf on the carpet to reduce wobbling without raising the height too much? The pad should have enough grip to keep the furniture from shifting.
