ᐅ Carpet in the bedroom despite underfloor heating?

we are currently considering the flooring options. In the show homes, we really liked bedrooms with high-pile carpet. The rooms have a very cozy atmosphere. Generally, we are not big fans of carpet and plan to install hardwood flooring, tiles, and laminate throughout the house. However, in the bedroom and the adjacent walk-in closet, carpet would be a real treat for the feet, instead of the rather cold laminate in oak farmhouse plank style.

We have underfloor heating everywhere, and there are now anti-allergy carpets available. But what about the risk of dust mites? I’m a bit concerned about that.

What are your opinions, and does anyone have carpet in their house or bedroom?

It would require much more vacuuming – the result then depends on the vacuum cleaner.

I used to have carpet in the bedroom for a long time – it works fine. I had laminate flooring for a while – it wasn’t cold, but it was slippery. Now we considered cork or hardwood flooring – the result: roughly planed oiled hardwood parquet. We find it very comfortable underfoot. It doesn’t feel cold at all. And the texture makes it really pleasant for the feet.

Underfloor heating and carpet can work together, but the carpet should be suitable for underfloor heating. If you find laminate flooring too cold, I would recommend vinyl, either click or glue-down. It has a much more textured surface than laminate, providing better grip, and it feels warm and comfortable underfoot.

Actually, not a problem. You generally don’t have the underfloor heating in the bedroom on anyway. Ours is permanently set to the lowest temperature with a night setback.

We are planning the same. Carpet in the bedroom and walk-in closet. The rest of the upper floor will probably be vinyl. I like to step onto carpet when getting up.

We have tiles everywhere. From a dust perspective, it’s very convenient – and overall, we don’t regret it.
