Are there any tips for wall mounting the Malm dresser? I plan to secure the dresser against tipping over since I have small children in the house. However, I’m unsure which anchors or screws are best suited—especially considering different wall types like drywall (plasterboard), concrete, or brick. I’m also interested in the ideal placement of the mounting points and the best procedure for installation. Has anyone had experience with securing this dresser to the wall and can offer practical advice?

If you have a drywall partition, be sure to use special hollow wall anchors. Concrete and brick accept regular anchors well. Screw the mounting brackets of the dresser into the wall and fix them with suitable screws.

For wall mounting the Malm dresser, I recommend the following: 1. First, check the wall material using an appropriate measuring device. 2. For concrete walls, use sturdy plastic anchors and screws of sufficient length (at least 6 cm (2.4 inches)). 3. For drywall, use cavity anchors, preferably metal toggle or snap wings. 4. Mounting points specified in the factory installation instructions should be used to ensure safety. 5. It is strongly recommended to secure the dresser at a minimum of two points.

I fixed my Malm dresser to the concrete using metal anchors. It is important that the anchors are load-bearing and that the screws are not too short – this provides the greatest stability.

Why approach this so rigidly? The Malm dresser only tips over if children climb on it. Maybe it would be better to discourage climbing rather than turning the wall into a drill-hole field. 😉 But seriously: the advice about using strong anchors is definitely correct, no question.

That would be ideal, but children are inventive. I want to implement technical safety measures, as this is often the only reliable precaution. Back to the technical side: Are there any recommendations for the positioning of the mounting brackets on the Malm dresser? Different furniture variations have different ►attachment points; could this be relevant?
