ᐅ Carpet in the kitchen— is that a good idea?

Hello,

My girlfriend insists on installing carpet in our kitchen. I find that impractical because if something drops, it immediately leaves a stain.

How can I convince her to change her mind?

Do you have any advice?

Thank you in advance.

A wonderful Sunday,

I don’t know anyone who has carpet flooring in the kitchen. That is impractical, or the kitchen is not actually used for cooking. That does happen. Otherwise, I only know of kitchen floors made of tiles or wood.

Hi,
My parents had a red carpet in their kitchen for several years. That was the trend back then. Oh, it looked terrible. So my advice: don’t have a carpet inside the house.
Best regards

I think having a carpet in the kitchen looks quite nice. You just need to be careful to avoid damaging it, which can happen quite quickly. But in any case, it feels nice and warm underfoot, especially during the cold season.

Hi,
A carpet in the kitchen? I've never heard of that before. It would get dirty quickly. When I cook, a lot usually falls on the floor. It’s then hard to keep clean. For me, tiles are the best option. You can easily mop and sweep them.
Best regards

I would strongly advise against installing a carpet in the kitchen. There is always the possibility that juice, vinegar, oil, etc., will spill onto the carpet. These stains can never be fully removed and will make the carpet look dirty and worn.

Hello,

My mother also has the idea of laying a rug in her small kitchen. Of course, I was shocked. That seems really unhygienic, especially since things can always fall on the floor. Now I am trying to convince her to use a coir runner instead. That can be removed after a while if it becomes unsightly. I just haven’t found the right one yet.
