Hello everyone,

we are in the process of building a single-family house with a basement suitable for living. This is the design we have come up with. I would like to hear from you if you see any possibilities for improvements.

On the ground floor, there is a side entrance door on the right. The carport will be located there.

In the basement living area, the children's rooms face south. From there, it should be possible to access the terrace and the garden.

I look forward to your tips and suggestions!

Ground floor plan: open living and dining area, kitchen, bathroom, hallway, and two rooms.

Apartment floor plan: kitchen, living room, hallway, and bedrooms with dimensions.

...well, it wouldn’t be that large if the parent wing were upstairs...*duck and run*
... then try drawing the rooms upstairs in a single-story design!

I would have a standard gable roof house like Schwörerhaus Plan E 15-143.16 or 15-149.10, or Balance 250 from Weberhaus.

Or a bungalow with 2 rooms under the roof, Schwörerhaus Plan E 15-211.1, just smaller.

My first thought would also be a bungalow with a converted attic. The roof terrace is practically useless... Aside from the fact that you wouldn’t use it if you have a terrace, sitting up there feels like being on display. Who would want that?

I’ve learned here that with the right elements, you can create a small fortress-style look!

A rooftop terrace can be very nice if done properly!

The balcony is there now, so are you suggesting I just don't use it?

It’s not there yet – so the opportunity to omit it, which one would have to convince oneself is sensible, is still available.

Why do you want to omit the area above the living room in the penthouse level, rather than the structurally more favorable area above the master suite?

It’s not done yet – so there’s still a chance to leave it out without having to force yourself to drink for the sake of it.

As I said, just show me other options, then no one here has to get drunk voluntarily!
