Hello, we are about to order a kitchen but cannot decide which downdraft extractor to choose.
The options are:
Bora Basic
Miele ....
Both cost around 3000 euros (approximately 3200 USD).
The Miele looks nicer, but for me it is more important that it works well and reliably.
Are there any long-term experiences?
Any recommendations with reasons?
I would really appreciate it.

Oh wow, how out of the loop I am – what exactly is a Dekton countertop??? Never heard of it......what a wretched existence you must have led until your enlightenment today Tarnari schrieb:
Sounds kind of bitter...No, I don’t think so. From an international perspective, I felt the same; you simply don’t think much about it because some things just don’t exist there. Still, we like to stick around here, but I can understand that viewpoint somewhat.
And of course, we’re all influenced here—advertising now targets us in ways we hardly notice, and no one is exempt from that. Knowing the huge budgets involved, it has to be worthwhile to deliberately raise awareness among the population.
If I plant potatoes in the front yard of a new housing development, paint my house green and red, and keep a few cows, chickens, and goats in the garden, I'd get into trouble, even though I’m just growing food for myself. Elsewhere, people might just get together for a barbecue.
In South America, I would never have landscaped my garden at my house, but here in the neighborhood, I do it somewhat because it would otherwise look strange or I might feel “pressured” to do so.
Of course, we Germans tend to be conscientious, always interested in technical details, and want everything to be done properly; that’s why I sometimes almost lost it when a South American craftsman came into the house and I could tell right away he really had no clue—but was always in a great mood. That’s what annoys “us.” Five different specialists later and the gas boiler still doesn’t work, with almost a gas explosion caused by the worker in between, etc.—there’s enough material for books. Everything has its good and less good sides.
For us here in the forum, owning a home is important and maybe sometimes we’re a bit obsessively positive about it, but I think that’s a good thing; it often sets us apart from others, and it’s no problem—I’m happy to be different.
