ᐅ Which downdraft vent system would you recommend for a new kitchen? Any suggestions?

Hello, we are about to order a kitchen but cannot decide which downdraft extractor to choose.

The options are:
Bora Basic
Miele ....
Both cost around 3000 euros (approximately 3200 USD).

The Miele looks nicer, but for me it is more important that it works well and reliably.

Are there any long-term experiences?
Any recommendations with reasons?
I would really appreciate it.

I don’t have a downdraft extractor and don’t want one either, but especially with the Bora Basic, I find it annoying that it takes up so much space. I seriously doubt that my beloved square pan or my largest pot (10 liters) will still fit on the cooktop.

Next week, we will receive our downdraft extractor from Neff. The big advantage of this appliance is that the grille above the ventilation is a thick cast iron grate. This means you can easily place a hot pot or pan on it if needed. Cleaning it is also very simple.....we’re really looking forward to it!

The Bora Basic was neither impressive in appearance nor functionality. No large pans and pots, no gas. We ended up choosing the Bora Classic; now I regret that back then we only opted for one gas burner. Maybe the induction will be removed again at some point, and replaced with a second gas burner. Or a teppanyaki grill would be nice, too...

We chose Miele after having several demonstrations....

We didn’t like the look of Bora, and Miele was relatively quiet. It’s also easy to clean if something boils over—you can remove and disassemble the parts.

We have a Homeier Downair Mistral. With this, you can choose the width of the cooktop, install one of your choice, and instead of a vent in the middle, it has vents on the left and right. That was what I liked best. It works perfectly, with enough power to suck the spices right out of the pan. Cleaning is simple: just remove the insert and put it in the dishwasher.
