ᐅ Which downdraft vent system would you recommend for a new kitchen? Any suggestions?

Hello, we are about to order a kitchen but cannot decide which downdraft extractor to choose.

The options are:
Bora Basic
Miele ....
Both cost around 3000 euros (approximately 3200 USD).

The Miele looks nicer, but for me it is more important that it works well and reliably.

Are there any long-term experiences?
Any recommendations with reasons?
I would really appreciate it.

I wanted to revisit this topic because we are currently deciding between a downdraft extractor and a ceiling extractor hood. We really like the Oranier model. Since it has been a few months, I wanted to ask again: Are you still satisfied with the Oranier? Is cleaning easy, and is there enough space for pots?

Thank you very much in advance.

Before you buy – have the extraction efficiency demonstrated, and keep in mind that removing water vapor is a very easy task (most demonstrations use boiling water). Some solutions work well, but unfortunately, some do not, and it won’t help you that you can clean and maintain the device properly if it does not do its job.

Unfortunately, I only have practical experience with Bora Classic and Professional (they work well) and cannot comment on Oranier.

We have the Neff, and it works very well in terms of ventilation. Easy to clean, and after 2 years, no issues so far.

We have now decided on the Gutmann Nivel solution. This allows you to still use the drawer under the cooktop and provides 5 cooking zones.

And how has your experience with it been so far?

I was able to test Bora several times and found it works very well – in my case, both the Classic and Professional first series.
However, we ultimately decided against this solution because we valued the advantages of a free-surface induction cooktop even more. Now, above it hangs a sculptural Falmec Marilyn.
