Hello, we are about to order a kitchen but cannot decide which downdraft extractor to choose.
The options are:
Bora Basic
Miele ....
Both cost around 3000 euros (approximately 3200 USD).
The Miele looks nicer, but for me it is more important that it works well and reliably.
Are there any long-term experiences?
Any recommendations with reasons?
I would really appreciate it.

Zaba, would you be willing to share a review? Thank you Briefly, I highly recommend the downdraft extractor for both its appearance and functionality.
My wife made potato pancakes today, and you really couldn’t smell that they were cooking.
The ventilation has 4 speed settings. Setting 4 is loud; at a distance of 4 meters (13 feet), if someone is standing at the cooktop, conversation isn’t possible. But it even removes the pepper dust while sprinkling it.
Setting 3 is about 50% quieter than setting 4 but is still sufficient for regular cooking.
I haven’t tested the other settings yet.

I haven’t tested the other settings yet. Storytime. A recirculating downdraft extractor can by no means eliminate odors or smoke, whether using activated carbon or ozone. The room will always smell and fill with smoke.
Only an exhaust system can help with that. What it does very well, however, is extract grease.
We also have one and, knowing its limitations, we are satisfied.
But anyone who cooks a lot, especially with high heat and frying, should avoid it.

Fairy tale. A recirculating downdraft range hood can by no means eliminate odors or smoke, neither with activated carbon nor with ozone. The room always smells bad and there is smoke.
Only an exhaust system helps with that. However, it is very effective at removing grease.
We also have one, and knowing its disadvantages, we are satisfied.
But anyone who cooks a lot and likes to fry at high heat should avoid it. You are really an idiot. For you, probably only your own opinion matters, even if it is wrong! Cheers!
