Hello everyone, I recently purchased the IKEA Hemnes shelf and want to take the best possible care of it. My question is: Which maintenance products provide the best protection for the IKEA Hemnes against scratches, discoloration, and moisture damage? It’s important to me that the products are specifically suited to the surface and material (solid pine wood with a lacquer finish) without altering the appearance or leaving any residue. Does anyone have specific recommendations or experience with which oils, waxes, or varnishes work well? Or would it be better to use professional care kits, possibly offered by IKEA itself? I look forward to your tips!

reoleon473 Mar 2021 18:26Dear all, I can only share the enthusiasm for hard wax oil! It preserves the warm wood appearance and provides excellent protection. Just keep at it, maintain it regularly, and the Hemnes looks almost like new! Don’t be discouraged, it really brings joy! 🙂
