So far, I have only received one offer and was shocked:
Aluminum rods, clear glass roof 10mm (0.4 inches) thick (you can walk on it!), about 2m x 5m (6.5 feet x 16.5 feet), cost around 10,000.
Is this realistic?
Of course, a plastic roof is much cheaper, but I’m afraid it will become dirty and opaque after a few years.
What is your opinion?
Thanks,
Alberto
PS Sorry for my poor German; it is not my native language...

With glass, you will need custom-made shading, either electrically or manually operated. That will cost a few thousand euros (or equivalent), otherwise, you’ll be overheating under the glass.

We will be installing it ourselves too :-p. How did you handle the shading?

Matthew036 Mar 2019 15:29We are very fortunate that my father-in-law is an interior decorator and also works with awnings and similar products. In our case, it will probably be a custom-made cable tension awning.
