ᐅ What is the cost of a glass patio roof?

So far, I have only received one offer and was shocked:
Aluminum rods, clear glass roof 10mm (0.4 inches) thick (you can walk on it!), about 2m x 5m (6.5 feet x 16.5 feet), cost around 10,000.
Is this realistic?

Of course, a plastic roof is much cheaper, but I’m afraid it will become dirty and opaque after a few years.
What is your opinion?

Not only is that realistic, but the offer is incomplete!
With glass, you will need custom-made shading, either electrically or manually operated. That will cost a few thousand euros (or equivalent), otherwise, you’ll be overheating under the glass.

we recently purchased an aluminum patio roof with 10mm (0.4 inches) safety glass measuring 4 x 3.5 m (13 x 11.5 ft) for just under 2500 euros, so it can be much more affordable, provided you install it yourself...

...he didn’t say that. We will be installing it ourselves too :-p. How did you handle the shading?

We are very fortunate that my father-in-law is an interior decorator and also works with awnings and similar products. In our case, it will probably be a custom-made cable tension awning.

Wow, 10m (33 feet) x 4m (13 feet) x 3.5m (11.5 feet) for 2500 EUR is a good deal!
