Hello everyone,

We are currently in the process of choosing our front door and considering whether it should have frosted glass or not.
The carpenter somewhat advises against it, saying that more light comes in without frosted glass and that there isn’t much going on in the hallway anyway… plus, the neighbors wouldn’t really be looking inside.
At the moment, our semi-detached house also has an entrance door with a glass panel and NO frosted glass. Somehow, it has never bothered me… but still, I would find it annoying if people could see into our hallway…

Ah! What are your opinions on this? My husband and I don’t agree at all…

It depends somewhat on where the front door leads. We decided against frosted glass because the front door is not visible from the outside.

The front door already faces the street, but it is a residential area... Usually, only cars belonging to residents or visitors drive there.

The carpenter also said that he really likes it when he knows who is at the door. He actually has a point... My husband just feels like he’s being watched then.

It depends somewhat on the role the hallway plays in your home – is it an entry vestibule? Does it lead all the way through to the sofa? Please post the floor plan.

Here is the floor plan... and the door we currently prefer.
The small mini walls in the entrance area will be removed...

I would go with non-etched glass there. It’s a matter of personal preference, as is often the case. If necessary, you can always have non-etched glass laminated or have a film applied.
