ᐅ Shower partition made from a material other than glass, thin and sturdy

The bathroom is very small.
However, a lot needs to fit in.
On one side of a partition for the shower, there is a washbasin mounted on the other side.
My question is about what material the partition could be made of.
What I am planning is to glue two Fermacell boards together and tile both sides.
(Just for your information: one side ends at the room wall, the other side at a stainless steel pipe that is cut open on the side. The wall won’t be very wide, about 40cm (15.7 inches).)
My question: is such a Fermacell surface stable enough?
I assume it is 😎, but I have never done this myself or heard of anyone else doing it 😱.
… or are there completely different methods that I simply haven’t come across yet?

quick wipe after showering I can’t understand how people can be so calm about this annoying task nowadays.
After showering, I want to dry myself off – then get dressed – and once I’m dressed, I don’t want to be moving around wet shower walls again...
For me, it’s simple: I turn off the tap, step out, and that’s it. 😉

"need constant maintenance to look good"
"Tiles do that too" From my point of view, tiles and glass are worlds apart when it comes to cleaning.
This reminds me of those modern sinks that look like old-fashioned bowls sitting on a countertop.
They require three times the cleaning effort compared to a standard sink.
But I realize… at my age, taste is a lonely thing. 😉

I don’t do that when I’m already dressed, but right after showering. Towel around me and wipe down the wall, then dry off. It’s just one wall, so it’s really quick. If the alternative were having an opaque fixed wall there, it’s worth it to me. I want to feel comfortable in the bathroom. And I’m not that young anymore.

I find it puzzling how calmly this tedious task is accepted nowadays.Well, I have a 140cm (55 inches) glass shower screen. This "tedious" task – I just timed it – takes about 4-5 seconds when I remove the panel.I find it puzzling how inflexible older generations can be these days 😉
Not uninteresting, the side topic "cleaning," but my question was more whether there are any clear reasons against the approach I am planning. So far, my plan seems quite feasible to me. Thank you for the comments. 🙂
