Hello everyone,
we are currently brainstorming ideas, drawing floor plans back and forth, and so on... basically at the very beginning.
I’m very curious about what unusual features you have incorporated into your homes. Any special elements, gadgets, functions, custom furniture, appliances, etc., where you thought, "I have to have this, no matter what."
I’m asking because over the weekend, I randomly came up with an idea where I exactly had that thought (I have to have it). I had never seen anything like it before, but when I started searching online, I quickly realized that such things already exist – honestly, I would have been surprised if I hadn’t found anything. Over the weekend, we visited an indoor playground with giant trampolines. Our floor plan includes a fairly large open space near the entrance, and I thought about putting a trampoline there. But I quickly dismissed the idea because jumping would make the ceiling feel too close. Then I remembered those safety nets often seen on construction sites, which can also be used as huge hammocks. I think that’s very cool, and if you search for "hammock net indoors," you’ll find some pictures.
I think there are so many cool things like this already out there, but you just don't think of them.
I’m excited to hear what you have incorporated into your homes.
If you want, feel free to upload 1-2 pictures.
Thanks and best regards,
sebisanu

Baumfachmann8 Jan 2018 18:05Above, I installed an aquarium measuring 2.50 meters (8 feet 2 inches) long, 80 cm (31 inches) high, and 70 cm (28 inches) wide into the wall between two rooms. One wall is fully covered with artificial rock up to the ceiling, which looks great together with the aquarium. The opposite wall in the other room is completely mirrored.
On the house entrance side, there is a utility room with its own exterior door. A carport measuring 10 meters (33 feet) long and 4.60 meters (15 feet) wide is attached to the house. The entrance is flush with the ground, so there is no need for snow removal in front of the door, and groceries can be brought directly inside without climbing steps. I also do not have a hallway. The staircase (landing stair) is integrated into the living area.

Steel strips embedded in the plaster within the lintels above the windows, then wallpapered over. Window decorations are now freely hangable on magnetic hooks. Nice idea, noted [emoji4]
