Hello,
I urgently need help and support.
We have a tilt-and-slide glass door in our bedroom. To open the door, the turn handle must be turned from the down position to the left. Then the door can be pulled out of the frame and slid to the left. This is how the door is opened.
It should be closed and locked again in the opposite way.
However, it is not.
Last night we had a strong storm with hurricane-force winds, and I couldn’t sleep at all.
The door is not properly locked. The turn handle is loose, and when the wind presses against the door, the door moves.
I tried to wedge it with wooden blocks, which holds temporarily, but I don’t know for how long.
I urgently need advice on how to proceed.
Best regards,
Michael

Is this a new house?No, the house is older and the window is also more than 10 years old. Best regards, Michael

Is this a new house? In that case, I would file a defect notice with the general contractor (GC). That would be serious – it looks that worn down.
@Michael-Erich:
Could you please take some photos of the side with the door open? I mean of the door itself. I suspect some bolts might be out of position or bent. This type of door is quite prone to that…

The storm is still raging, and I’m not sure if I can get the door reasonably sealed again.
There is also a tilt-and-turn door on the left. However, I don’t know if the hardware is from the same manufacturer.
Best regards, Michael
