Michael-Erich22 Dec 2023 07:13Hello,
I urgently need help and support.
We have a tilt-and-slide glass door in our bedroom. To open the door, the turn handle must be turned from the down position to the left. Then the door can be pulled out of the frame and slid to the left. This is how the door is opened.
It should be closed and locked again in the opposite way.
However, it is not.
Last night we had a strong storm with hurricane-force winds, and I couldn’t sleep at all.
The door is not properly locked. The turn handle is loose, and when the wind presses against the door, the door moves.
I tried to wedge it with wooden blocks, which holds temporarily, but I don’t know for how long.
I urgently need advice on how to proceed.
Best regards,
Michael

Michael-Erich22 Dec 2023 09:32One more note,
the wind comes from the left and then gets caught at the outer door frame.
As a result, the door leaf is pushed about 5-8 mm (0.2-0.3 inches) away from the frame on the right side.
To me, as a non-expert, this means the door leaf is not properly locked.
However, given the current storm situation, I don’t want to take any risks.
I’m glad that wedging it now makes it reasonably tight.
Best regards, Michael
