It would be great if some of you could share pictures of your terraces. With so many options available, it can be difficult to make a decision.

What materials and colors did you choose, and why? What has your experience been like after 5 years or more? How large is your terrace? What did you pay for it? Have you incorporated any features such as umbrella stands, raised garden beds, or similar elements? Did you do the work yourselves? Do you know any reliable suppliers for materials that you would recommend? What would you do differently next time?

There are surely many other homeowners who would appreciate photos and tips. Thanks in advance!

That looks pretty expensive? I also like panels with various sizes and laying patterns.

Why does the lawn look so fuzzy?

Because it’s not a lawn, it’s a meadow.

Oh, cool thread. As soon as we have something to show, I’ll join in. Until then, I’ll share what’s planned:
A 60-70 m² (645-755 sq ft) terrace, which is already gravelled, with 24 m² (258 sq ft) designated as an outdoor kitchen with a permanent roof. We want to pave it, as well as the path in front of the house, with rustic paving stones in reddish-sand colors, and we have already found an affordable option that we like. Depending on the offer, we might have the columns for the roof made, but we will do the rest ourselves.

That's quite large!

Which one?

Yes, that’s how it turned out (but I think it’s closer to 60 rather than 70 square meters (about 650 rather than 750 square feet)... I’d have to do too much math to be exact). We are placing the outdoor kitchen attached to a corner of the house, and the terrace will then curve around the other corner of the house, ending at the corner of the room we added onto the house next to the kitchen, which serves as a cellar replacement. The whole area will be separated from the lawn by a low wall.

Which one exactly?

I don’t actually know the name right now. We found it at the local hardware store here, but there are lots of similar options like this. Visually, it looks somewhat like KANN Etrusco paving.

Garden patio of a modern house with covered seating area, palm plant, and garden party.

Covered patio with dark wooden frame, pink and white balloons, and garden furniture.

Messy picture of the current condition. It was a children’s birthday party yesterday. The terrace is about 48 m² (516 sq ft) in size. The paving slabs are called Estrella from Lithon Plus. I think they cost around 30 per m² (approximately 2.80 per sq ft).
