It would be great if some of you could share pictures of your terraces. With so many options available, it can be difficult to make a decision.

What materials and colors did you choose, and why? What has your experience been like after 5 years or more? How large is your terrace? What did you pay for it? Have you incorporated any features such as umbrella stands, raised garden beds, or similar elements? Did you do the work yourselves? Do you know any reliable suppliers for materials that you would recommend? What would you do differently next time?

There are surely many other homeowners who would appreciate photos and tips. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t install it without a gap. My husband started that way too, but in the end, he took everything up again because research online showed that it’s probably not a good idea. We actually liked it better with a gap.

Without a gap, expansion can cause parts to chip off.

Six years ago, we installed concrete slabs without joints, and did the same again last year. No unevenness, no chipping.

Well, we’ll see. So far, everything has been laid out accurately and properly, and I have to trust the professionals to some extent.

Finished, now we are continuing with the paths around the house.

Of course, without drainage channels in front of the floor-to-ceiling doors, it does not comply with the standards (but it may still function).

Setting tiles outdoors with tight joints directly onto a gravel bed and then filling the joints afterward is something I haven’t seen before either. But what matters is it turned out nice.
