Hello everyone!

We want to combine wall cabinets in Nexus dark brown in 60x92cm (24x36 inches), 60x70cm (24x28 inches), and 60x120cm (24x47 inches) with sliding doors. According to the IKEA kitchen catalog, all these sizes are available. However, online only the 50x92cm (20x36 inches) size is shown. How can I find out if these sizes really exist and if they are available at my local IKEA? Emailing IKEA was pointless.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards

Hi,

Nexus black-brown is a cabinet front that is not available in every house. You can tell because the kitchen catalog shows a small delivery van next to the front overview. It is, of course, available in all the sizes you need, but probably not permanently stocked in your home. However, you can order it on site. It usually takes quite a while. In the worst case, you should allow 4-6 weeks.

So no worries, just be a bit patient. 😉

Best regards

Thank you for the reply.
IKEA could have just answered me like that by email as well. They always just said "it's available" and "it's in stock at IKEA Regensburg," but without telling me how I can be sure that it will actually be in stock on the day I go, so I don’t make the trip for nothing.
I suppose there’s no way to check this online, right?

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

I just took a look at it. It’s quite odd that no matter which IKEA you select, only a few fronts are available to choose from. There could be several reasons for this. One possibility is a simple software error. Another is that the front is being discontinued. Basically, that would be annoying but not too bad, since the fronts could still be ordered from Sweden.

Here’s what I suggest. I’ll follow up on this on Monday. If it’s actually just a computer issue, I’ll check whether the fronts you need are in stock in Regensburg. For that, I’ll need the exact dimensions and the quantities required. If it turns out that the front is being discontinued, I’ll let you know so that at least you know where you stand and can order it from Sweden if needed.

Best regards,

Hello,

I checked in this afternoon, and all the front panels were in stock in Regensburg. Not in large quantities, but always at least 2–3 pieces available.

Thank you for your efforts!
I finally received an email from IKEA confirming that it is indeed a software error, which will be fixed with the next online update. In the end, it only cost me two trips to IKEA, as I originally wanted to order the items online—oh well.

One more question: Do you have any ideas on how my husband could install the wall cabinets with a small gap from the wall to allow ventilation?

Thank you
Sabine
