Hello everyone,
I’m new here and generally a big fan of IKEA. I’ve just assembled my second kitchen and everything went quite well. However, I now need to make two changes and since I couldn’t find any information on the IKEA website, I wanted to ask if anyone here can help me.
1) Dishwasher. Currently, I have a Skinande dishwasher installed. However, due to its noise level and build quality, I will be returning it—thankfully, IKEA is very accommodating. As an alternative, I would like to install this model (Siemens SX66P052EU). The dishwasher is a bit taller than a standard one (86.5 cm (34 inches)), but that should work with my countertop height (countertop starts at 89 cm (35 inches)). Do I need to consider anything special for the front panel, or is it similar to the Skinande with the appropriate drill holes and front mounting screws?
2) Freezer. I’m planning to add an extra freezer integrated into a METOD tall cabinet. I already have the tall cabinet but haven’t assembled it yet. I want to order the freezer now but I’m not sure about the dimensions. IKEA’s built-in appliances are usually about 54 x 54 cm (width x depth), but this one (Bosch GIN81AC30) has installation dimensions (H x W x D) of 177.5 cm x 56.0 cm x 55.0 cm. Does anyone know if that will fit? These units are pretty heavy, and I want to avoid having to return it afterward.
One more note: I installed a Siemens oven in a tall cabinet and the dimensions didn’t fit properly. The oven conflicted with the drawer below. I had to drill my own holes to fasten the oven. It was quite a hassle but eventually worked.
Best regards and thanks,
S

IKEA-Experte27 Apr 2016 11:58Hello,
1) That won’t work. You need a full-size dishwasher with a variable hinge from Siemens, Bosch, Neff, or an XXL model from Miele. No additional accessories are required to install a 80 x 60cm (31.5 x 23.6 inch) front panel, except possibly a wooden plug from a hardware store to glue into the hinge hole if a bracket needs to be screwed in there.
2) That shouldn’t be a problem. IKEA appliances are narrower because they use only a pull-out door system.

45 dB is too loud; I have a Bosch dishwasher with 44 dB, and I can hardly hear it.
