Hello everyone,
I’m new here and generally a big fan of IKEA. I’ve just assembled my second kitchen and everything went quite well. However, I now need to make two changes and since I couldn’t find any information on the IKEA website, I wanted to ask if anyone here can help me.
1) Dishwasher. Currently, I have a Skinande dishwasher installed. However, due to its noise level and build quality, I will be returning it—thankfully, IKEA is very accommodating. As an alternative, I would like to install this model (Siemens SX66P052EU). The dishwasher is a bit taller than a standard one (86.5 cm (34 inches)), but that should work with my countertop height (countertop starts at 89 cm (35 inches)). Do I need to consider anything special for the front panel, or is it similar to the Skinande with the appropriate drill holes and front mounting screws?
2) Freezer. I’m planning to add an extra freezer integrated into a METOD tall cabinet. I already have the tall cabinet but haven’t assembled it yet. I want to order the freezer now but I’m not sure about the dimensions. IKEA’s built-in appliances are usually about 54 x 54 cm (width x depth), but this one (Bosch GIN81AC30) has installation dimensions (H x W x D) of 177.5 cm x 56.0 cm x 55.0 cm. Does anyone know if that will fit? These units are pretty heavy, and I want to avoid having to return it afterward.
One more note: I installed a Siemens oven in a tall cabinet and the dimensions didn’t fit properly. The oven conflicted with the drawer below. I had to drill my own holes to fasten the oven. It was quite a hassle but eventually worked.
Best regards and thanks,
S

Thank you all for your numerous responses.
It will probably be the Neff.
Regarding noise level and build quality of the Skinande dishwasher:
I believe the dB ratings given by manufacturers are only somewhat useful since you don’t have laboratory conditions at home. And whether manufacturers’ ratings are directly comparable—I have no idea. In my old kitchen (Faktum), I had a Siemens dishwasher; it was rated at 42 dB and was actually almost inaudible.
By comparison, when the Skinande starts running, you can basically leave the kitchen because it’s just loud. And purely based on the dB ratings—42 versus 45—that’s a difference, but I would never have expected the actual experience to be so different, as described above. I also think this dishwasher is simply poorly built. Compared to my old Siemens, everything inside is loose; I suspect this is one reason for the noise.
Fortunately, Ikea will take it back. I will report back on how the Neff performs.
Good luck.

nachtvogel18 Aug 2016 03:41We installed the Skinande today.......
You don't look a gift horse in the mouth......... after all, there is a 5-year warranty.
I'm curious to see if it is really louder than the Siemens.
I didn't enjoy using that one either.
Since my kitchen is a separate room and no one is around there after meals,
I don't really mind how loud it is.
