Hello,

The windows were installed today.
I went to check them this evening in the dark.
Unfortunately, one window seems to have been damaged during installation or transport.
There is a deep scratch on the protective film.
How can this be dealt with now?
It’s quite frustrating.

That is a vinyl wrap. You can use a car decal remover, which will take it off so thoroughly that you would only notice it with a magnifying glass. Karsten

Yes, that’s what I mean.
Replacing it probably wouldn’t be worth the effort -> too much work

Just to ask plainly: Are you sure it’s REALLY a scratch? We had the same issue. After the windows were installed, one of our windows showed these "scratches"—actually three of them! I panicked immediately. It looked exactly like what you have. It felt like a scratch (you could really feel it when running your finger over it), it looked like a scratch... just like in your photo. I wiped it with a cloth, hoping it was just dirt... nothing changed. Then my husband wiped it with a damp cloth, applying a bit more pressure and for a bit longer than I did, and look: the "scratches" disappeared. They were gone. Completely invisible, as if they were never there. No change in the surface texture of the film, no raised or sunken area where the "scratch" had been, no color difference from the rest of the window. You can’t even tell anything was there before. I have no idea what it ultimately was, but it wasn’t a scratch. I suspect it might have been some kind of adhesive residue or something very stubborn, but I’m not sure. In any case, nothing can be seen anymore, even after months. That doesn’t mean it’s exactly the same case for you. But take another close look. If in doubt, it’s still better to inform the general contractor before you risk damaging anything by scrubbing yourself (in our case, it was more luck than judgment 😀).

Yes, unfortunately it is a scratch.
Repairing it with film is probably complicated as well.
I would likely fix it now with a touch-up paint pen.
I need to see if I can live with it.

Leave that to the person who does it. Have you ever seen how repairs are made to film coverings?

I’ll leave that to them; that was the information from the window manufacturer.
The profile on the side needs to be fully covered with film.
Just repairing the scratch isn’t possible with colored wax or a touch-up paint pen.
But it won’t become invisible.
