Hello!

During the consultation for a new Metod kitchen, we were quite discouraged about installing third-party appliances. However, we want to buy a dishwasher before purchasing the actual kitchen—and not from IKEA... I mean the dishwasher 😉
Does anyone have experience with whether this is really an issue and what type of appliance would fit best: just a freestanding model that can be installed under the countertop, semi-integrated, or fully integrated?
For aesthetic reasons, we are leaning towards a semi-integrated dishwasher.

Your answers could really help speed up our dishwasher purchase 🙂 — after a year without one, that would be a dream...
Thanks in advance,
B.

Thank you!
There don’t seem to be any completely clear answers, but I have made a bit of progress. I hadn’t found that one crucial link before...

Hello everyone,

I am planning to buy a Metod kitchen soon. However, I already have a partially integrated dishwasher, the BOSCH SMI54M35EU. It has a standard height of 818 mm (32 inches). I have been browsing forums for some time now to figure out how to install it neatly and elegantly without any tricky workarounds.

I originally thought it would be quite simple: adjust the dishwasher to the right height (adjustable up to 875 mm (34.5 inches)), get a 60x60 cm (24x24 inch) front panel—like the ones available at IKEA—fit my spacer pieces below the control panel, and then screw on the one-piece front panel.

Is this possible? Or am I missing something? I admit I’ve been thinking about this for a long time and don’t understand why it wouldn’t work that way. Please clarify.

Best regards and many thanks in advance!

Hello, that won’t work because the 60cm (24 inches) front would extend too far down and hit the base of the dishwasher when opening the door, so the door wouldn’t open fully. You will need ERSÄTTARE.
