ᐅ Is a Satellite System Still Necessary for New Builds, or Is IPTV Sufficient?

Hello everyone,
Please forgive me if I haven’t searched through hundreds of pages. My basic question is whether you still consider a satellite dish necessary or if you would just skip it altogether. About our profile: When we watch TV, it’s exclusively public broadcasting channels and no private channels. However, mostly we watch on-demand content like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and so on. In this context, we’re really starting to doubt whether we can save ourselves the 850 EUR gross. What do you think? Should we just stream the public broadcasting channels via Apple TV, or is it still better to have a satellite dish installed?
Thanks & good luck, Commanderchen

What about Jungle Camp? The next day, there's always a summary of it in the tabloid.

What about Jungle Camp? You just need to log in to GMX with your browser twice a day to get the daily summary, so at least you can follow the conversation. The format probably doesn’t deserve any more attention than that. And now Wendler is only available on TV Now!
I find it annoying. They force us to pay a broadcasting fee, whether I want to watch the public service social educator TV or not. And now I’m supposed to pay again for Magenta TV, or Netflix, or Sky? No. What’s available via satellite is enough, plus some media libraries or YouTube, which works well over Wi-Fi. That’s sufficient. If there’s nothing on, then there’s nothing. Then we just listen to music through our Yamaha amplifier and Canton Fonum speakers—like Peer Gynt Suite, Schubert’s Rhenish Symphony, some bel canto, Bowie, or Volbeat, and depending on the mood, Foo Fighters.
There’s also satellite TV channels like arte, Phoenix, or n24, which often have good content. 3Sat frequently broadcasts concerts or sometimes theatre. We don’t miss streaming TV at all. Satellite is fine. K.

The main thing is you can still see Wendler’s girlfriend on free-to-air TV!But only with the sound off.
