Hello everyone,

I would like to get a rough idea of what to expect when installing a satellite dish system.
It will probably be an Astro 85cm (33 inches) dish, just for Astra. A splitter for up to 16 receivers.
Basically, the dish should be mounted, aligned, and the cable routed through the roof, since the splitter will be located in the attic under the roof.
A roof flashing or something similar will also be needed.

What have your experiences or quotes been?
I will handle running the cables from the splitter to the receivers myself.

Are we looking at a total cost of around 500 €, 1500 €, or even more?
I don’t really have a sense for this yet.

Best regards,
Tito

We received a quote of approximately 1,500 euros net for a single-family house with 4 connections (including chasing, cables, outlets, installation, etc.).

350 euros net for cables
400 euros net for hardware (dish, LNB, small parts)

However, I think the offer was somewhat expensive.

I can’t tell you what it will cost for your situation, but I can share what it cost me and the work that was involved.

I had the antenna through-roof flashing installed at the same time as the roof covering. That cost around 70 euros.

The following tasks had to be completed for me:
- Satellite dish installation
- Electrical cable routing from my meter box to the distribution panel (also in empty conduit within the concrete slab)
- Installation of a high-voltage outlet in my distribution board
- Protection and routing of a cable in the empty conduit of the slab for outdoor use

Two electricians worked for almost a full day. They connected my house electrical supply, installed and aligned the satellite dish, including the mounting pole (which alone with mounting materials cost around 150 euros). Then they installed the high-voltage outlet, and secured an outdoor cable in the distribution board.

All this cost me around 1000 euros.

Now you can estimate what it might cost you.
Oh, and my coaxial cables were already installed; the connection was made from the roof down to the distribution board.

I think up to €1000 (around $1090) is a realistic budget, depending on the equipment. An 80cm (31.5 inches) steel dish costs €40 (about $44), a Quattro LNB €20 (about $22), a multiswitch €100 (about $109)—if you need a 16-output model, which raises the price, of course. A 30€ (about $33) mast and possibly the roof tile are additional costs. It can be done cheaper without a multiswitch by wiring directly, but then the system is smaller in scale and the cables must run directly from the dish to the wall outlets in each room.

If you want to improve, the material costs just under 1000€:
for example:

Kathrein CAS 80cm (31.5 inches) dish with Kathrein LNB
Jultec switch
Roof penetration and mast
Grounding?
Sockets and proper cable
