Hi!
In our new build, there is a provision for a satellite system as well as multiple satellite outlets in every room. Now I’m wondering, is that really necessary? Will my children ever watch anything on free-to-air TV?
My children and I mainly watch Netflix/Amazon, and only my wife occasionally watches crime shows on free-to-air TV.
So my thought is to skip the whole satellite setup and instead install more LAN ports...
How have you handled this?

We also have a NAS, which is very convenient... The scanner is connected to it as well, so you can quickly scan invoices upstairs in the attic at 30°C (86°F), and then comfortably work on them later in the cool living room on your laptop.
The TV is also connected to a PC; we hardly watch anything live anymore. Everything is recorded so that commercials can be fast-forwarded or cut out if we want to keep the recording.
I admit, even though I’m not clueless about computers, I wouldn’t have this luxury without my husband...

Two TVs connected to satellite. One of them is from a flea market, bought for 50,-: basically an early Grundig flat model, indestructible. An old Philips DVD player as well. It keeps running and running. Then a Yamaha stereo receiver with a CD player, connected to Canton Fonum speakers. No Spotify, no computer in the living room, just an iPad and technology I understand. Different times. When I visit older people, like those over 80, their setup looks even simpler. TV, radio, that's it.
That works too. Karsten

I’m not that old yet and don’t want to develop high blood pressure from all that stuff. It just costs money, for nothing and nothing again.
