ᐅ Ikea Utrusta Push-to-Open Cabinet Door Mechanism – Non-Electric

Nabo1979I bought a Pax wardrobe with a corner unit. The corner came with a Besta push-to-open mechanism. This is screwed onto a panel, so the door opens when you press against it.
For the other wardrobes, I don’t have any because I forgot to order them.
I don’t want handles.
I basically just want to know the difference between the Besta and Utrusta mechanisms. They look different, and I like the Utrusta better. Both cost about €5 for 2 pieces.
I want to order them online since the travel costs aren’t worth it for me.
So, I’d rather not order the wrong ones with €6 shipping fees.
Also, I would like to know how to attach the Utrusta to the wardrobe. Is it also fixed on a panel?
Can someone possibly share a picture? Unfortunately, I can’t find any assembly instructions for these parts.
I called the hotline earlier, but the guy wasn’t very helpful. He didn’t even want to believe the Besta opener came with the corner unit because he said it’s only for Besta doors, but I have Pax... The assembly instructions actually show how to install them.
It’s just annoying that for the other wardrobes nothing was included, and the staff didn’t give any hint at purchase that you need handles or these push-to-open mechanisms.
You don’t buy a wardrobe every day! And even in the planning software, there’s no note about this since for regular meter-wide cabinets you have to buy the push-to-open separately.
I hope you can tell me how they work.
I also have the soft-close hinges. Can I keep those, or will they not work properly with the Utrusta?
Thanks!

Google makes it possible! I searched for Utrusta electric door openers...
You should remove the door closers if you want to install electric door openers. You would always have to wait until the door has fully closed with the closer before pushing it open. That doesn’t make sense.
Best regards

SwedenSwensen29 Aug 2013 17:51The Pax wardrobe does not have an "electronic" push-to-open mechanism. Just buy the regular push-to-open catches and screw them under a shelf using the supplied wood screws, then it will work.
