ronja200214 Jul 2010 17:18Hello 🙂
We recently bought three Pax wardrobes (2x 50 cm (20 inches) and 1x 1 m (39 inches) wide, all 236 cm (93 inches) tall with hinged doors) because Pax seemed very customizable and there were many Komplement inserts that appeared useful. So, I carefully convinced my beloved partner to invest together in the corresponding wardrobes.
Unfortunately, I am quite a bit poorer today and not as happy as I had hoped. If I had known then what I know now, I would have at least chosen sliding doors.
The reason?
Well... Pax is very customizable and offers many storage options. Unfortunately, I didn’t consider that at this height there are four hinges... and they are always in the way. For example, I wanted to install a drawer but couldn’t place it where I wanted because the hinges got in the way. I had to plan space both for the drawer slide and the drawer itself. I’ve now made a compromise regarding the installation height... but I still find it disappointing to have to make compromises when the total price was about 800 euros (around 850 US dollars). If I had known that the customization is really only flexible when choosing sliding doors, I would have reconsidered everything and either purchased sliding doors or chosen a different alternative instead of Pax.
I hope my experience with the Pax wardrobe is helpful for anyone facing the same decisions I faced recently.
