Hello everyone, I am planning my kitchen using the IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets and want to remain especially flexible, as my needs will likely change in the near future. Does anyone have experience with how to cleverly modify and expand Metod kitchen cabinets to adapt them individually to changing requirements? I am particularly interested in practical tips on which modules and system components work well together, how to easily expand or rearrange the cabinets, and whether it might be worthwhile to use special additions like interior drawers, inserts, or extra shelves. Thanks in advance for your advice and exchange of ideas!
An important tip for remodeling and extensions: use the Metod rail profiles on the walls. This allows additional modules to be easily mounted and repositioned as needed.
Make sure to pay attention to the correct alignment and use of leveling feet to keep the structure stable.
Soft-close interior drawers help protect the materials and make handling more comfortable.

Thank you for all the information so far! I am still curious about your experience with the compatibility of the Metod modules with the pharmacy cabinets or pull-out cabinets from the same series. Can these be easily combined and expanded later on, or are there limitations that need to be planned for in advance?
The pull-out cabinets are generally compatible with the Metod base units, as they share the same frame dimensions and mounting points.
It is important to adjust the correct width and height to achieve a continuous front. The mechanism differs slightly, so any later modification should be carefully planned, especially when it involves internal paneling.
In general, you can flexibly combine both within one kitchen area if the dimensions match. The expandability remains intact as long as the connection systems are used carefully.
