Hello IKEA fans!

1. If I install a refrigerator into a Metod cabinet, is there always a gap of about 10cm (4 inches)? Or is there a cover panel for that?
2. Is the refrigerator fixed at the top in any way? IKEA said they rely on its own weight for stability...
3. There is a panel below the tall cabinet—does the grille need to be installed there? IKEA assembled it without the panel.

Our new Metod kitchen from IKEA has been installed—what was planned for one day turned into two, but now it’s done. Except for the built-in refrigerator, which we want from Bosch and will install ourselves. Now to my question: We have a 220cm (87 inches) tall Metod cabinet with four drawers installed below at standard height, topped off with a board as usual. My question is: Where does the board with the rails that support the refrigerator go? If I attach it above, it sits in the space of the door hinge. That leaves about 10cm (4 inches) of space between the last drawer board and the refrigerator board. Is that space supposed to be left open? Does it always stay like that?

Thanks for the clarification
Dirk

Hello,
which refrigerator is it? How tall are the drawers? What are the dimensions of the refrigerator front?

Open kitchen base cabinet with metal drawer slide, tools on the floor.

Here is the removed non-reinforced board and above it the rail for the refrigerator shelf.

The refrigerator is a Bosch, 122 cm (48 inches).

The door is 140 cm (55 inches).

This is roughly it. The question is whether the rails with the board for the refrigerator will be installed above the board or not.

The space between the shelves remains empty. If it is a refrigerator with a flat hinge, you do not need hinges on the door and can set the refrigerator deeper. This way, there will simply be free space at the top.
