Hello IKEA experts,
I plan to buy the FYNDIG kitchen next month and have a question about installing the upper cabinets:

Does anyone have experience mounting the wall cabinets using the Metod hanging rail?
Does it work well both technically and practically?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,

Hello,

this doesn’t work easily. The hanging system uses metal brackets that are screwed onto the back of the cabinet. For Metod, these brackets allow either hanging on the mounting rail or traditional screw fastening. Fyndig comes with different brackets that are only suitable for screw fastening (similar to the old Faktum system).

You can try to obtain the Metod brackets (and the related hanging parts) through the spare parts service, but you would need to check whether the bracket holes also fit Fyndig (I don’t have either Fyndig or Metod at home). Additionally, the Metod rail hanging system requires a matching cutout in the back panel of the cabinet – this would have to be done by yourself.

The holes for the screws on the METOD mounting brackets are different, so you need to drill into the cabinet carcass. You also need the lower spacers. These will still be visible afterward because with FYNDIG the back panel is not recessed, meaning it can only be installed reversed. Alternatively, you can create a custom solution for it.
