Hello everyone,
we are currently assembling our first IKEA kitchen and so far we are quite satisfied. Only the assembly of the Faktum 40cm (16 inch) base cabinet with drawer and pull-out is causing us some difficulties. The included door front (Abstrakt white) only has holes for standard door hinges. Neither the cabinet assembly instructions nor the ones for the Rationell drawers show how to attach the front. Unfortunately, a call to the IKEA Service Center was not helpful this time, as they only referred me to the online assembly guide. Either I’m missing something or there actually isn’t one for the cabinet with a pull-out.
How do I attach the front?
Also, I’m curious how you have mounted your wall cabinets. Just with screws? My old kitchen had “hooks” that hung on a rail…
Regards,
Andrea

IKEA-Experte15 May 2011 18:34It might be that the dampers at the front with the small white nipple are not properly engaged.
Remove the drawer again (press the white locking tabs on both sides from underneath and push the rail back), then push the damper forward and the rail backward at the same time until it clicks.

sande_38323 Jan 2012 18:11Unfortunately, this problem is not limited to just this store. After arriving home and facing the same dilemma about how the drawer front is supposed to fit, I went back to IKEA (Hannover-Expo). There, I was told to use the provided template to drill new holes. However, there was no template included. And if you drill new holes where needed, you ruin the cabinet because there are already cutouts for the hinges in that spot.
On top of that, the “service” treats you as if you are too incompetent to properly read the instructions.
Thank you very much, IKEA.
