Hello everyone,
like many others, I found my way here a few weeks ago during my kitchen planning process.
We want to install an IKEA Bodbyn kitchen in our house. Not to save money, but simply because I don’t like what is offered in typical furniture stores—it doesn’t feel modern or fresh enough.
Still, I don’t want to miss out on Bosch / Siemens kitchen appliances.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU already!!!
With your help and all the forum posts, I have already been able to find a dishwasher and a cooktop-oven combination that should probably fit. As far as I understand, cooktop-oven combinations are standardized, and for the dishwasher, it was easy to find the right model for us in the XXL series.
I have chosen the following models:
Dishwasher by Siemens: SX65P082EU
Cooktop-oven combo by Bosch: HND22K200 (consisting of HEA23B157 and NKN645G17).
However, I need some help with the refrigerator.
I want one without a freezer or freezer compartment.
After a long search, I really like this Bosch fridge:
KIR51AD40
Appliance dimensions (H x W x D): 139.7 cm (55 inches) x 55.8 cm (22 inches) x 54.5 cm (21.5 inches)
Cabinet opening dimensions (H x W x D): 140.0 cm (55 inches) x 56.0 cm (22 inches) x 55.0 cm (22 inches)
I’m still not sure whether I want a tall cabinet of 2 m (6 ft 7 in) or 2.2 m (7 ft 3 in) height.
What should I pay attention to? Where can I find the cabinet opening dimensions for the different IKEA tall cabinet variations?
Are refrigerators installed directly on the cabinet floor?
If I have a door taller than 140 cm (55 inches), are there shelves available to make use of the space above or below the fridge?
How did you handle installing a „non-IKEA“ fridge (which models)? Maybe I will reconsider and choose a tried-and-tested one for the fridge as well.
Best regards, KüchenfeeS

KüchenfeeS30 Jan 2017 18:19Basically, my concern is not about the printed representation.
I selected the ME 716 kitchen cabinet (item no.: 90213568). Unfortunately, I cannot find the exact door measurements on the product page on the IKEA website.
So I followed the item list printout. It roughly looks like the door is 140cm (55 inches) high.
Now, I don’t know where to find a reliable specification of the door height or if the doors always come in standard heights (140cm (55 inches), 180cm (71 inches), etc.) and are not, for example, 138.2cm (54 inches), which might cause problems later.
I want to avoid the issue you described with the door I would have to open when accessing the open compartments.

IKEA-Experte30 Jan 2017 18:34Height: 139.7 cm (55 inches)
If the cabinet is 200 cm (79 inches) tall, you can have a drawer at the bottom with a 20 cm (8 inches) front, a 140 cm (55 inches) high door, and above that, a 40 cm (16 inches) high door.

I’m really embarrassed. I always tried to understand what you meant, but only just now got it oops:
I didn’t realize I could select the doors individually for the cabinet carcass!
So, you’re saying that I basically have to use both the 20cm (8 inches) drawer front and the 140cm (55 inches) door front for my refrigerator and attach these two separate parts to the fridge, right?
And then I can use the 40cm (16 inches) door front for another compartment...

IKEA-Experte30 Jan 2017 19:29No,
I mean that you install a drawer with a 20cm (8 inches) front at the bottom, position the base so that it and part of the refrigerator are covered by the 20cm (8 inches) drawer front. The refrigerator will have the 140cm (55 inches) door, and the 40cm (16 inches) door covers, if necessary, a small part of the refrigerator above the appliance door. The compartment behind the door may then only be about 33cm (13 inches) high.

Thank you, IKEA expert, for your patience and valuable tips!
Regarding dishwashers, I did a bit more research on the Siemens website (maybe interesting for future reference).
The following three dishwashers are XXL models with variable hinges:
I have now decided on this one:
SX758X06TE
SX878D04PE

SX736X03ME
