Hello everyone,
I am planning to get an IKEA PAX wardrobe but am unsure how stable this system really is in terms of the risk of tipping over.
Intuitively, I consider the wardrobe to be relatively sturdy, but I have read several warnings emphasizing that tall, slim furniture like the PAX should be securely anchored against tipping.
Therefore, I am interested in how well the PAX is protected against tipping. Is the included wall mounting hardware sufficient? Are there additional tips or proven methods to further improve stability, especially if you have children or place the wardrobe on carpet?
A concrete assessment based on personal experience or technical details would be very helpful. I look forward to your opinions!

Exactly, I also connected several modules in my Pax and screwed each one directly to the wall! ?
This way, the cabinets are hardly ever going to tip over!
The connection between the modules is great, really good advice!
And always remember: better to secure them one time too many than one time too few!

The fastening is done either with small brackets or clips that anchor the cabinet to the wall at the top.Secure each unit individually.
Connecting them adds rigidity but does not replace wall mounting.
If you still feel uncertain about anything: it is completely normal to have concerns at the beginning, especially if you have children or pets.
However, you shouldn’t stress too much, because with the right measures (wall anchoring, even loading, use of fasteners), the cabinets are definitely safe.
It might also help to take your time and assemble carefully, so you can check along the way whether everything is stable.
Good luck with your project!

Good morning,
I would like to point out again the installation on carpet: the cushioning effect of a thick carpet can reduce stability.
If possible, use firmer bases such as wooden boards or furniture glides to better distribute the load.
This can also reduce the risk of tipping, especially if the cabinet is frequently loaded.

Thank you all very much for the detailed and precise contributions!
I now have a good understanding that wall mounting is absolutely crucial for stability, every single unit should be secured, and special attention must be paid to the load.
The advice regarding the installation location and substrate (especially carpet) was also very helpful.
I will be especially careful during installation now and use the recommended connections.
Thanks again for the great community here!
