Intuitively, I consider the wardrobe to be relatively sturdy, but I have read several warnings emphasizing that tall, slim furniture like the PAX should be securely anchored against tipping.
Therefore, I am interested in how well the PAX is protected against tipping. Is the included wall mounting hardware sufficient? Are there additional tips or proven methods to further improve stability, especially if you have children or place the wardrobe on carpet?

IKEA usually provides stabilizing braces (back panels) that further reinforce the cabinet.
It is also important to tighten all screws carefully and not to overlook the wall mounting.
For families with children, additional safety measures such as door locks are recommended to prevent accidental tipping when opening.

I would like to add that it is advisable to assemble the PAX on a flat surface. Especially if the floor is uneven, using small wooden wedges or adjustable furniture feet can help improve stability.
Additionally, most problems occur when the wardrobe is overloaded or when heavy items are stored on the upper shelves—particularly if there are children in the household.
Therefore, securing the unit to the wall is not optional but essential. When this is taken into account, the PAX is actually very safe against tipping over.
If anyone is unsure, an additional safety measure can be installed at the top edge, such as metal brackets or special furniture straps.

At first, I was unsure and therefore secured all the PAX wardrobe units to the wall in our house, even though I often read that this is only officially recommended.
Doing this gave me a lot of peace of mind, and I really feel safer.
At the same time, I deliberately made sure to store heavier items in the lower and middle sections and only place lighter things at the top.
My advice is to take the fixings seriously!
